Strangelet is an oddity. A rare occurrence when the whispers of the night are given a chance to materialize. In this case - the absolute bleakness of autumn 2020 when the album was written between the forests of upstate New York and a basement studio in Brooklyn. 

The micro-societal collapse that was growing more evident by the day and the micro-dosing of psilocybin fueled Strangelet to become a shadowy mash of art house electronic rock that lives on a mirrors edge. While nodding to more conventional musicality, Strangelet conveniently goes off course to a distinct flavor of abstraction and emotional embellishment that is both tart and mellowing. 

Double exposure and collage of the writing locations makes up the album art. From showcasing the last moments of Space Chimney's stint In Greenpoint, i87, and the basement of their hotel, the limited edition cassette release features a sprawling 8 panel gallery of the album writing time period. Also included in the cassette release are 13 bonus b-sides that were written alongside the album songs, but never fully got a chance.

Galatic Anything is the album single that hangs on the fence of formality while openly opposing it. Common Phase and Chemical Beliefs are close seconds that skirt traditions while extrapolating them to something more personal.

While still immensely troubling to Space Chimney even 5 years after writing Strangelet, the weight to these songs never lost an ounce. No longer looming in the perpetual background of forgotten intention - Strangelet lives to see the light of day.
